So Long, Farewell

Normally I start my blog for the day with a recap of what I did that day, but today, I’m going to start it with what is going to happen tomorrow…

Tomorrow will be my last day at RevBuilders as the intern. I have been here for six weeks and the time has flown by. I remember walking into the office that first day being nervous and excited, not knowing what to expect. You can have four interviews before you get a job and when you walk in on the first day, you still never completely know what to expect.

My internship has given me a very good feel for this side of marketing. I have done things that I knew how to do before coming into the Rev Team, but I have learned so much as well. I didn’t really even know what SEO was on my first day, but that has certainly changed. I now know what it is and how it works. I have learned some of the lingo of the trade, like spiders, backlinks, organic, black hat and other words that have very different definitions outside of SEO.

I wouldn’t claim to be an expert and I shouldn’t be the first person you come to for SEO advice, but I feel as though I have a general grasp of it. I had the chance to learn and use some fun programs while I was here. Then again, I also got to spend some time with Yelp, a program that I’m sure you know my feelings about if you’ve been reading the blog. Tamara will attest to my feelings. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Yelp still has not approved my business pages for Connor’s Pest Protection that I added two weeks ago.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to intern here at RevBuilders. It has been a great experience, working here at RevBuilders and I would recommend anyone looking for a job or internship in this field to call up the Rev man and see for yourself. Scot is a down-to-earth guy who is a leader, a teacher, and a lot of fun to work with. I’m going to miss coming into the office and being welcomed by his random greetings and salutations. And no, he didn’t pay me extra to say something nice.

Now after reading this, you may be wondering why, if tomorrow is my last day, am I leaving a farewell blog today. Well, the answer is quite simple… tomorrow we have an exciting event planned, but you’ll have to come back and read the blog to hear all about it!
