At Least Have a Google+ Page

RevBuilders Marketing's Google Plus page - you need a profile picture, and five other pictures.  You can use what's on your Facebook for inspiration!I think by now everyone understands that social media marketing is important. It’s been around long enough to have sunk in for most people. And, it’s also been around for enough time that people have had a chance to see the benefits of social marketing (when they are able to do it).

However, the fact that Google has its own social media resource continues to seem strange to some. And, I’m still finding people that didn’t know that Google’s social media is tied into search for logged-in users. (more…)

Google Now Differentiating HTML Status Codes

I can’t exactly pinpoint what the practical application for this will be, but Google has made a minor alteration in how it treats 404 (page not found) and 410 (gone) server header page status codes. Google’s Penguin Update Has SEOs Up in Arms: But, What Is It?

The elephant in the room for SEOs for the past several months has been Panda, a Google update which was supposed to punish sites with low-quality content. How the change defined “quality” was hotly contended for quite some time, and then people more or less went quiet. Anymore, Panda is used primarily as a reference point for new updates. The SEO community in general is up-in-arms over recent Google algorithm changes. In fact, the extremity of an SEOs dissent seems to be directly correlated to how much of their work was done in “black hat” or unethical SEO tactics. Which is a good thing, I’d contend, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some interesting ramifications to online marketing. With gaming the Google algorithm becoming much more difficult, the nature of gaining exposure through online sources has changed. (more…)
